Disconnect the negative cable first. Open the terminal jaw, slide it fully onto the battery post until it bottoms out flush.
Strip your cable, insert into the clamp port (8 AWG up to 4/0 AWG). For multi-way sets, distribute cables evenly across the ports.
Tighten the post bolt, then the cable bolts, snug but not over-torqued. Reconnect negative last. Done — no more loose clamps.
